Limiting Beliefs
It is not our minds that limit us, but our socialization; what we have been programmed to believe by family, caregivers, siblings. Our indoctrination, what we believe to be true about ourselves, the people we interact with, the world we live in and universal laws was done by repetition. These beliefs [basic assumptions] reflects the collective mindset of influencers of our time, not the absolute truth.
If these basic assumptions are incorrect, then everything we base on these assumptions must be flawed, e.g. the world is flat (we can fall off the edge/ end).
Inhibiting Upbringing
Your/ our upbringing trained and rewarded us to behave, fit in, follow the rules, do as you’re told, so we give up our autonomy, refrain from taking the lead, the initiative, making decisions, we leave it up to management/ authority.
When young adults leave school, many have lost their delight in learning and see it as something they have to do to get ahead. Some even have an aversion to learning and avoid it at all costs.
Misusing creativity
Opportunism to the detriment of someone/ something else; scheming, how to beat others, cheat others, get something for nothing.
