What love is and what love isn’t
Where to start
Love begins at home (with self). How can you expect someone else to love and care for you if you can’t do that for yourself?
By self-love I do not mean Narcissism, as that is an unhealthy kind of love without consideration for others.
Love is | Love isn’t |
Opposite of 7 deadly sins (my interpretation)
|
7 deadly sins
|
Kindness, nurturing, considerateness | Inconsiderateness, humiliating, belittling, rudeness, dishonoring, abuse, hurting, cruelty, malice, spite |
Acknowledgement, affirmation, developing | Neglecting, shaming, degrading, damaging |
Courage, fortitude, grace, joy | Fear, anger, rage, depression, apathy, worry, sorrow, melancholy, gloom |
Excellent health, energy and vitality | Ill-health* especially when caused by overindulgence, neglect, and other bad habits. |
Communion, empathy | Total disconnect |
…. There are many other examples of what love is and isn’t….
What love wants | What love does not want |
Thriving | Rot, disintegration, depravity, corruption |
Movement, action, growth, development | Suppression, stagnation, boredom |
Conscious awareness, attention, intention, mindfulness | Carelessness, unconsciousness, disinterest |
Wanting the best for all | Deprivation, denial, sabotage, impairment |
