How much stress can you handle before something snaps?
How much stress have you been privy to the past few months?
We have our fair share of stress not only at work, but on all fronts; you need only watch Television to feel threatened on many fronts; Government? Free education – at universities? Drought on the one hand and flooding on the other? Fires? Bombings in various capitals of the world?
On the home front minimum wages and the threat of thousands of people being let go because employees can no longer afford the workforce, which means less will have to do more, and the pressure mounts, plus, what do we do with the unemployed then – and the resultant problems of these people now without income; a burden to state, taxpayers, and society?
Illness or death in the family or of a close friend, relationship issues, obligations, financial problems, and health issues, etc. – all take their toll.
All work and no play
Too much stress is a killer. Cumulative stress, builds up. You feel as if you are coping, and you probably are, but at what cost? Chronic subliminal stress affects a huge part of the population and is detrimental to your health.
- Do you take work home more evenings than not, as well as weekends?
- Can’t remember when last you had a weekend off?
- Do you have insane deadlines?
- Are you working excessive overtime?
