Your TRUE Nature is Bliss
No, I am not crazy, deranged, nor am I a ‘bliss bunny’. I am practical, pragmatic, sceptical, and down-to earth.
However, I have had unequivocal glimpses of this Bliss-nature of ours at various times in my life; moments that took my breath away, challenged all my pre-conceived ideas of reality, and left me altered forever after.
Now that I’ve experienced this, I can’t go back – and I wouldn’t want to.
My eyes have been opened to the magnificent, magical universe we live in that few people experience.
My wish is that more people are able to get this, because it is so awesome!
Why do you not know that your true nature is bliss?
You have been duped by society; by our parents, caregivers, authority figures because they don’t know any better. Based on this false information you then respond to circumstances, situations and your environment and make certain assumptions about yourself and the world you live in which became your reality, your truth.
You did most of this (your reality building) between the ages of 0 – 6 with the limited information and experience of your short life, based on faulty input from others… Are you surprised that the truth you hold is but an approximation of reality?
Taking stock
How many of us take stock of these base assumptions that were made before we could walk or talk?
Lizard brain
Another factor that has a huge influence in the way you perceive your world is what I call the lizard brain. The lizard brain kicks in before the conscious part of the brain can, and the bigger the fright/ fear, the bigger the response – flight, fight, faint, feint. It has been a fantastic survival mechanism and has stood us in great stead through the ages. That’s why the human race has survived.
However, this factor makes us react to situations and circumstances as if our lives are at stake – which in our day and age is very seldom the case in day-to-day living.
You might think you aren’t swayed by your lizard brain, but if you have ever mulled over or rehashed a situation over and over or felt crushed by a remark, this dynamic was at play – there are millions more examples.
NOTE: Remember this reaction happens because rejection from the group/ tribe meant certain death to our forebears (at the dawn of our existence), and so we have ‘inherited’ this fear.
Today we can find or create our own groups – there is enough diversity for everyone to thrive, never mind survive, so we never need to feel like an ‘alien’ on the planet, and most of our experiences are not really life-threatening, so we are over-reacting if we go into panic-mode.
