Finding the Genius Within at Work
Work is hell
Hell hath no fury like a worker scorned!
Are your workers in some kind of hell unbeknownst to you?
Dissed* meaning people in some form of hell like – disgruntled, dismissed, disenfranchised, disenchanted, disconnected, discouraged, disregarded, disrespected, disinterested, discontented, disheartened, disgraced, disloyal, dispirited, dispassionate, dissatisfied, dismayed, distressed, disturbed, distrusting, displeased, disparaged, displaced, disconcerted, discounted, disgusted, disenfranchised, disheartened, distraught, discredited, disadvantaged, disabled, discarded, discriminated against, disdained, disappointed, disapproving, and so on…. (Usually as a result of how they feel they were, have been, or are being, treated) Dissed* staff can screw you in millions of subtle insidious ways, sometimes even unintentionally. Unhappy (dissed) people affect relationships and stress levels of everyone concerned. This would have a knock-on effect into the rest of the organization, spreading out wherever they go, affecting others and even affecting the economy [the worse your business does, the worse it is for the economy]. So the disposition of your workers also indirectly affects those they aren’t involved with. Such workers are a liability, and as a liability they would obviously and definitely affect the bottom line negatively.
Infectious like a virus
Unfortunately it does not stop there as you well know. When people are unhappy and discontent they talk about it and infect others. Like blight or a cancer it grows and spreads. Before you know it you have a riot or strike on your hands… at the very least they go slow, merely going through the motions, they do the absolute minimum or display passive aggressive behavior, are often off sick, and come up with a myriad of excuses why things are not as they should be, and are often in reactive mode, and blow things up out of proportion..
We each have unique gifts. It’s a damn shame if it gets buried and is not allowed to flourish.
When we collaborate, growth explodes. A good example is technology and how the accessibility of information has radically affected the rate of change, growth and advancement of any subject you care to mention. Can you imagine what it would be like if we could optimize each individual’s contribution as well as the collective contribution of people working together to/for the common good in the family, group, society, association, business, company, organization, clan, and community?
